The American-Italian Federation of the Southeast was founded in 1973

to represent and support Italian-American Organizations of the Southeast at the Local, National, and International Levels.

Our current projects include erecting a 16′ high Monument to the Sicilian Sugarcane Harvesters of 1870-1924.

Our Louisiana – Italian Film Festival sold out. Three of the films shown can be seen on the AWE News Youtube Channel. “Who Killa da Chief?” ; “Aviator col de Pinedo” ; and the Social Media Compilation Video. Plans are under way for 2024. Renaming it the Louis Prima Film Festival and adding national competition set to Louis’ songs.

The AIFEDSE promotes and exhibits at regional Italian Festivals. This was our booth at The Independence Louisiana Sicilian Festival displaying a maquette of the future Monument to the Sicilian Sugar Cane Harvester

PAST: Celebrating All Saints Day at the Italian Society Mausoleums in Metairie Cemetery.

PRESENT: We support the numerous parades and festivals of our member organizations.

FUTURE: AIFEDSE sent four delegates to the 2023 Italian Future Leaders Conference.
